Another favourite because, well come on, it’s a Russian pin for a Russian airliner. The IL86 was produced to enter service for the Moscow olympics, following her first flight in 1976. However she missed her 1980’s entry into service and was never commercially successful, but this wide-bodied Russian giant served the soviet nation well during its time. 106 were produced with the last aircraft retired in 2011. This pin is a reminder of the IL86 program and a great little piece of cold war history.
