Hapag-Lloyd began as a simple shipping company, but branched out as an airline in 1972. For hundreds of thousands of German holiday makers Hapag-Lloyd marked the start to the family package holiday. Sadly Hapag-Lloyd disappeared in 2007, being folding into the TUIfly brand. This Boeing 737-500 was a fairy common sight in the late 90´s and early 2000’s. The last example left in 2004. Only -500’s ever flew with Hapag-Lloyd so this model is a rare example of an even rare example. This model is part of a selection old, our of circulation models that Herpa produced. The model itself is in perfect condition but the box has seen better days.
