British airways pin late 70s

7.50

British Airways burst on to the UK aviation scene way back in 1973. It was formed by a merger of B.O.A.C and BEA. It was controversial at the time, but BA was born. This pin comes from that era and features the original logo at the time. The pin itself is nicely preserved despite the thin tin construction. It’s finished in red on a silver background and has a small safety pin on the back to attach it to your jacket. The original logo lasted 9 years and was eventually replaced with the classic 1980’s Landor redesign. This pin is a great piece of history and makes for a great addition to any BA collection.
